Persona 5: The Phantom X had a solid Western/Japanese launch following an extended period of time in which the gacha-based mainly-mobile spinoff remained exclusive to China and other parts of mainland Asia. Alas, things haven't gone so well for the game in the two months since its release, with plummeting player counts amid some dire user reviews.

It may have taken longer than many would have liked, but the 'Persona 5: The Phantom X Operations Team' has announced sweeping changes which aim to address the most common criticisms.

The news comes from Persona 5: The Phantom X's official website. It starts with an expression of appreciation for fans' "patience and ongoing support", which is a nice way of saying "sorry about the mess", before taking the earnest step of actually, in fact, apologizing for the less-than-stellar state of the game.

"In this letter, we hope to answer your questions and concerns based on the feedback we have received so far, especially regarding the differences with the Chinese/Asia versions, the Contracts system, as well as shed some light on future updates."

Plenty of shifts are coming, now and in the near future, as the devs retool Contracts...
