Publisher Annapurna Interactive and Canadian developer Furcula have announced the release date for Morsels. The roguelite game with a creature collector aspect to the gameplay will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch on November 18. The reveal came along with a new trailer that showcases the gameplay.
A Transforming Mouse Against Oppressive Cats
Morsels is a new project that features art by Toby Dixon, who has previously worked on Atomicrops and Nidhogg 2. Other members of the development team include music composer Sam Webster (Grindstone, Guncho) and programmer Iggy Zuk.
In the game, players take the role of a hungry mouse trying to survive in the sewers by finding scraps. One day, this creature meets a "magical sentient fatberg" who teaches them how to transform into other creatures called Morsels. With this newfound power, it's up to you to fight and try to overthrow the oppressive cats from the upper layers.
As players explore more, it'll be possible to acquire new forms called Morsels that can be activated like magical cards at any time. Alternating between them accordingly, depending on what's the best strategy, will be the key to dealing with the frenetic...
