Galarian Mr. Mime is coming to Pokémon GO.

A special event featuring the Galarian form of Mr. Mime is coming to Pokémon GO. On the Pokémon GO blog, it was announced that from Friday, December 18th, to Monday, December 21st, players can run into Pokémon such as Jynx, Swinub, Spoink, Woobat, Cubchoo, and others more frequently when an Incense is active. There is also the chance to run into a shiny Cubchoo. Incense will be more effective at attracting Pokémon, and will last for three hours during the event.

The main event next weekend will be the Special Research storyline surrounding Mr. Mime. This Special Research will be available from Saturday, December 19th to Sunday, December 20th. Tickets for this event will set gamers back $7.99, and can be purchased until 6 p.m. local time on December 20th. Through this Special Research quest, players will have an encounter with a Galarian Mr. Mime, and will earn enough Mr. Mime candy during the event to evolve it into Mr. Rime. Players will earn a special event medal, and a brand-new avatar pose inspired by Mr. Mime.

There will also be a number of other perks that players can access in the Mr. Mime Special Research. Gamers can complete Special Research tasks in order to earn encounter with Pokémon such as Alolan Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Jynx, Whismur, Chimecho, and Snorunt. There will be exclusive Field Research tasks that will lead to encounters with Jynx, Lapras, Woobat, and Cubchoo. Completing the Special Research will net players three Incense, three rare Candies, 30 Ultra Balls, three Premium Battle Passes, one Poffin, two Glacial Lure Modules, three Super Incubators, and three Star Pieces.

Pokémon GO is currently in the midst of its Season of Celebration. Mega Charizard X, Mega Gengar, and Mega Abomasnow will be the Pokémon found in Mega Raids during the month of December. There will be a number of events taking place during the Season of Celebration, including a Community Day this weekend that features Pokémon from Community Day events throughout 2019 and 2020.
