Nobody was really surprised to learn that Monster Hunter Wilds would be crossing over with Final Fantasy 14. However, the crossover, which was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, goes both ways – meaning both games will get crossover content from each other. Monsters, mounts, and other features will travel between the two games.

While Monster Hunter Wilds is getting a chocobo mount, some new cosmetics, the meat of it is an Omega Planetes hunt, which will probably be an event quest. These are easily accessible via the quest board after a certain rank. But if you want to access the MHW content in Final Fantasy 14, you'll have to put in the work and play the entire MMO!

Final Fantasy 14 is an MMO, so you already know there's a lot of grinding involved. However, the Monster Hunter content is only available after Dawntrail, which is the game's fifth expansion. This means you'll not only have to finish the base game, but go through five expansions before getting the opportunity to fight Monster Hunter Wilds' mascot, Arkveld.
