"Don't Make This Game Fortnite": Dune: Awakening Players Don't Want Goofy Cosmetics

Dune: Awakening players are in for a treat, as September 10 will usher in the Chapter 2 update for the MMO, along with a new DLC called The Lost Harvest, costing $12.99. Announced at Gamescom 2025, the new title update will bring in tons of content, like a new story mission, character re-customization, and new armour types.

The Lost Harvest DLC, however, brings in a lot more, if you're willing to spend your spice on it. This includes a new Treadwheel vehicle, new side quests, more building options, and tons of cosmetics. Unfortunately, one of the showcased weapon skins has players worried that Dune: Awakening Might be going the Fortnite route, with silly cosmetics.

Among the four new weapon skins that will be coming for the DLC is a rather 'Fortnite-y' looking one for the Shaitan's Tongue flamethrower. It features a fiery dragon's head on the muzzle, which clearly deviates from the look and feel of the game. While no other details have been provided, the community is worried that it might open the gates for more silly cosmetics, like in the case of recent Call of Duty games.
