Escape From Tarkov is officially leaving beta with its major 1.0 update coming on November 11. Battlestate Games, the developer of Escape From Tarkov, first opened the game to the public in a limited alpha test back in 2016, with the game later moving to a closed beta in 2017, and remaining in that state since.
Players have to pre-purchase the game to get invited to the closed beta, which receives patches and some new content from time to time. In the beta, there is no full campaign, with each game mode being a round-based extraction shooter with PvP and PvE elements. The gameplay has been praised by some and disliked by others, as its survival elements and tactical FPS gameplay can be very unforgiving, but also very rewarding for those who take the time to master the game's various elements. While a lot of how the game functions in this beta reflects how the full game will play, a lot more has always been promised to be coming with the game's eventual full release.
