Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and a bunch of other recent titles' notable performance issues have caused a lot of gamers to pin the blame on Unreal Engine 5.

For a while now, Unreal Engine has dominated the gaming development scene as the easiest game engine to work with. While some studios use their own software, like Capcom with the RE Engine and Guerilla with Decima, it's fair to say that the majority are working with Epic's Unreal Engine.

That hasn't been much of a problem with past iterations of Unreal Engine, but the latest, Unreal Engine 5, seems to be a different story. As advanced and capable of creating stunning games as UE5 is, a lot of recent releases running on the engine have been struggling with surprising performance issues, which are now putting Epic's engine under a harsh spotlight.

As we reported earlier this week, the latest game running on Unreal Engine 5 that's struggling with performance issues is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Despite being a remake of a 21-year-old game, Delta seems to run much worse than it, especially if you're playing on PS5 Pro.
