A fan-developed mod for the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered has finally brought online multiplayer to the game. Although leaks suggest Insomniac Games was once working on a standalone Marvel's Spider-Man multiplayer game, the project was cancelled before an official reveal. Fans have often begged Insomniac to revitalize the project, but it looks like they are now taking things into their own hands with an epic new mod.
In 2023, shortly after the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, developer Insomniac Games fell victim to a massive data breach. The leak resulted in tons of unannounced projects and plans making their way online, including a standalone Venom game, Marvel's Spider-Man 3, a new Ratchet & Clank title, and more. While the leak appears to have altered these plans (as the standalone Venom game was supposed to launch this year), it did give fans a look at some canceled projects, including a Spider-Man multiplayer game known as The Great Web.
