Unreal Engine 5 gets a bad rap with PC gamers thanks to all the shoddy ports that make even top-of-the-line rigs blush. So, it's hardly surprising that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is shaping up to be another disappointment.

While the game launches tomorrow, advanced access began two days ago. So, reports are already piling in on its performance.

YouTuber NikTek tried running MGS Delta: Snake Eater on the lowest possible settings, with a resolution of just 360p. However, he was unable to reach 60fps even with these restrictions. "This needed way more time in the oven," he argued.

Synth Potato's first impressions are likewise worrying; "I cannot possibly recommend this right now at $70," he tweeted. "It should've been delayed [...] PC optimisation suffers from massive issues and you are expected to utilise DLSS/Frame-gen to achieve [...] 60fps gameplay.

"ALL platforms suffer from inconsistent frame rates across the board. If you have a VRR-capable screen, then a lot of these fps drops are less noticeable, thankfully, but they are there".
