Final Fantasy 14 is currently undergoing a pretty radical change, or at least that's what a large majority of the community is hoping for. Thanks to the complete disaster that was the Forked Tower, director Yoshi-P and his crew have a new direction for the game's approach to difficulty, which we'll start seeing in the next Deep Dungeon which drops in 7.35.
Instead of designing content for specific difficulty levels, whether it be casual, midcore, or hardcore players, Final Fantasy 14's new content will attempt to cater to everyone, offering up different degrees of difficulty depending on whatever the player chooses. It's an interesting idea, one which we'll see implemented very soon, but it's not without its drawbacks.
Final Fantasy 14's slow release schedule is already causing frustration among the community, with five months between patches becoming the norm, and there are regular complaints over having nothing to do during that time. For many, there's just not enough content, and it's a problem that doesn't appear to be going anywhere any time soon. In fact, it could potentially get worse.
