A new update for the Call of Duty HQ app could be great news for players, as leaks suggest it will reduce the game’s base file size by more than 100GB. Call of Duty has often garnered criticism from gamers for the massive amount of storage space it requires each year, but if a new leak is to be believed, publisher Activision may finally be addressing the issue in the game’s next big update.

After releasing alongside 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, which itself received massively negative reviews from critics, fans have often blasted the Call of Duty HQ app for its unintuitive user interface and massive storage requirements. For those who might be unaware, Activision introduced the HQ app as a central hub for each new entry in the series, starting with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, its 2023 successor, and the free-to-play Battle Royale title, Warzone. Unfortunately, the app has never really received any praise, with fans regularly calling for its removal.
