BioWare had a tough time marketing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as everything from the art style to the title change was picked apart by fans. Things started to turn around when we got a much better story trailer close to launch, mostly thanks to the fact that it confirmed Morrigan would be returning.
Then, our hopes were dashed again when it was revealed that world states would pretty much not be a thing anymore. Instead, players were asked for just three choices they made in Dragon Age: Inquisition, which raised a lot of eyebrows when it came to Morrigan's involvement in the story. So much of her journey is impacted by the player, including whether or not her child, Kieran, was born with the soul of an Old God. Ultimately, we got a version of Morrigan where none of this mattered, meaning that we never really got any closure.
Now, fans are mourning what could have been, especially when it came to Kieran. Hell, given that Morrigan is romanceable in Dragon Age: Origins, some players would have had characters who were Kieran's father. Aside from that, Kieran could also be the bastard son of a king, but none of this...
