In the world of online multiplayer, couch co-op play is becoming a lost art. Year over year, few games, if any, offer true split-screen play, and while there are signs of a potential comeback, we're still a long ways away from the heyday of having basically every game also double as a couch title.
One game that would certainly be ripe for a couch experience is none other than Helldivers 2, the breakout live-service shooter from Arrowhead Studios that recently made its way beyond PlayStation consoles with a release on Xbox. It turns out that it might be possible.
As first spotted by Insider Gaming, Arrowhead Studios CEO Shams Jorjani wrote on Discord, in response to a question whether the game would ever get split-screen, particularly in light of its surge in popularity, to which Jorjani responded:
It's technically feasible, but I have no idea if it's a feature ppl really want. It's on our 'To Investigate' list.
