Earlier this year, Valve dataminers uncovered a Source 2 string labelled 'tf'. You can probably guess what everyone thought those two letters stood for, but it was too early to say with any certainty that it was a new Team Fortress game. Just a few months later, though, and leakers are far more confident that 'tf' is a follow-up to the classic 2007 hero shooter.
"[Valve] is working on a new Team Fortress game," reporter and dataminer Tyler McVicker said in a new video. "We now have more evidence that not only is the team still together—the project is still moving forward—but the game is moving forward in production, actually adding new features into the Source 2 engine that influence the entirety of game development at Valve Software, but made specifically for this project—codename TF."
Codename TF has a new feature that was pushed to the base engine of Source 2. It's an overhaul of the decal system.
