Techland, the studio behind the beloved Dying Light series, has said it is already throwing around ideas for where the next game could go after The Beast. Three years after the launch of Dying Light 2, Techland is gearing up to revisit Kyle Crane's story in Dying Light: The Beast. The third instalment in the famous zombie series will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 19, with a last-gen release to follow later this year.
Initially, Dying Light: The Beast was scheduled to launch for current-gen consoles and PC in August, but Techland announced in July that it had delayed the game's release by four weeks in order to "allow for extra polishing work." The good news, however, is that anybody who owns the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 will be receiving The Beast for free. This is because the third entry in the series actually started out as a DLC for Dying Light 2, but after some unfortunate leaks revealed elements of the expansion, Techland opted to pivot and turn The Beast into a fully fledged standalone title.
