Grinding Gear Games has announced a list of new changes coming to Path of Exile 2 in early September, aimed at resolving the biggest issues that have cropped up since the release of The Third Edict. Path of Exile 2 kicked off its second-ever league, Rise of the Abyssal, on August 29, alongside version 0.3, The Third Edict. Owing to the size and scope of the expansion, however, new bugs and balance issues have come to light, prompting GGG to issue a new update.
Reception to Path of Exile 2’s Rise of the Abyssal league has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans praising the newly added Act 4, the Interludes, and the removal of the cruel difficulty in particular. Even the minor changes added to the endgame are proving to be game-changers. Path of Exile 2's player count has seen a major jump since the update’s release, and with more issues fixed in the upcoming patch, that trend will likely only continue.
