With its blockbuster open beta in the rear-view mirror Battlefield 6 fans can't wait for October 10 to level entire maps once again. Dice's shooter probably had one of the best open beta tests in recent history, with hundreds of thousands of players queuing up even before it began. Once things kicked off, we knew that this was what the Battlefield series needed.
Speaking of leveling entire maps, the destruction in the game is exactly what players hoped for. With RPGs, tanks, and jets flying around, the devs had to ensure that they nailed this feature. However, just because it's an important aspect of the series, it doesn't mean that they couldn't have fun with it. It seems the devs have a red button to blow entire maps up.
In a conversation with Kotaku, Dice producer Jeremy Chubb and design director Shashank Uchil revealed that the dev team created this doomsday button so that they could work on the destruction assets in Battlefield 6. Of course, it would be great to see it in action, but prepare to for a massive dip in framerate.
