If you've missed the discourse, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a difficult game. Talk of its difficulty has dominated gaming social spaces for the last fortnight, with some adamant that the game is too hard for its own good. This has ultimately led the game to be bombarded with negative reviews on platforms like Steam, with Silksong now receiving triple the number of said negative reviews when compared to its predecessor, Hollow Knight. There are, of course, large portions of the audience who are okay with the challenge, seeing it as part of the series' DNA, but that hasn't stopped frustrations.
For every complainer, there does seem to be a Silksong masochist. Within less than a week, players began to achieve the game's extremely difficult platinum trophy, and the game is being beaten in around an hour by speed runners.
