Silent Hill f is almost here, and from the sound of things, it seems like the Silent Hill series might be back with a bang. Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f back-to-back will do wonders for the reputation of the series, especially since reviews for the latter have been so positive. However, there is one issue that might stop PS5 Pro players from thinking so highly of it.
First reported by Digital Foundry, it appears as though Silent Hill f doesn't run particularly well on PS5 Pro. Despite looking and running perfectly fine on the base model, Konami's decision to offer PS5 Pro players a single "enhanced" performance mode using PSSR may come back to bite it once again.
For starters, Digital Foundry notes that, due to the probable use of PSSR, Silent Hill f on PS5 Pro will produce an "artifact-ridden image" that is quite clearly visibly worse than the base PS5. In the video, you can very clearly see artifacting, especially in the more detailed areas. Thankfully, it appears the frame rate is a nice, stable 60fps, but boy, that artifacting is really noticeable, especially when side-by-side with the base console....
