Hollow Knight: Silksong's Latest Patch Has Quietly Given Us A Reason To Use Charge Attacks

Hollow Knight: Silksong gives you a bunch of tools and weapons to beat up the creatures of Pharloom, as well as a few abilities you can gradually unlock as you make your way through. You can argue that most of these have their uses, though I personally never found much of a reason to use Hornet's charge attack. It's slow, awkward to use, and a few standard hits with the needle do pretty much the same thing.

It's an attack that could do with a small buff to encourage its use, and thankfully, that's exactly what Team Cherry did in the game's second patch, which went live earlier today. Just like the nerf to certain environmental hazards, the small buff that the charge attack got was missing from the patch notes, but it does change the attack's helpfulness pretty significantly.

First noted by a Reddit user called Icy_Percentag and shared with the Silksong subreddit, it now appears as though charge attacks will now generate silk when you strike enemies now, when previously they just didn't. It was a pretty big request from a few fans prior to the patch, and honestly felt like a bit of an oversight on Team...
