Palfarm chose a hilarious time to reveal itself to the world. Palworld, famous for making Nintendo very upset for 'copying' their homework, has revealed a spinoff title mere days after Nintendo revealed a Pokemon game in the same general genre. Social media discourse has once again begun.
IGN quoted Reddit user "Sweaty Molasses", who described Pocketpair as 'Ballsy' for releasing their trailer so soon after Pokopia's announcement. (The internet is wonderful, no?)
Poketpair, meanwhile, has put out their own statement on the matter, saying what should be fairly obvious.
"I'm surprised how many people think we're wizard-level developers able to make a game in 1 week," said John Buckley, Pocketpair's communications director. "The tinfoil hats are out in force."
How Similar Are Pokopia and Palfarm?
Palfarm describes itself as a "creature-collecting farming sim", with a focus on multiplayer and a healthy dollop of moral dubiousness. "…Is one of your Pals slacking off?" The Steam description asks. "Time to teach them the joy of working."
