Like with past games in the series, Borderlands 4 has a bank that allows you to share loot between characters. It's handy if you get a rare class mod drop and want to save it for your other vault hunter, or just have an abundance of legendaries you want to hold onto.
But the bank only has so many slots, so you need to upgrade it via the SDU menu to keep storing new gear inside. The problem is, as noted by u/TheGuardianFox, if you upgrade your bank, any items placed in the new slots cannot be accessed by other characters until they also upgrade the bank.
Bug, poor game design, or a simple oversight? Fans aren't sure, but whatever the reason, they aren't happy about it. "Love this game, but bank upgrades not being shared is blatantly bad game design," u/TheGuardianFox said. "My bank is completely unusable by my new character".
They do have some ideas on how Gearbox could 'fix' the bank, however, staying true to its design ethos as a way of easily sharing loot between playthroughs.
