After Over A Year Of Build-Up In Early Access, Hades 2 Players Are Disappointed By The Ending

Hades 2 finally launched out of early access this week, and already, players have reached its 'true ending'. But, unfortunately, it's not what everyone had hoped for it to be, and many are disappointed by the finale that Supergiant laid bare.

Throughout the game, Chronos is positioned as the ultimate evil, an irredeemable villain that Melinoe is set to squash using the powers bestowed upon her by the vengeful Greek pantheon. But when it comes to confronting him, the hatchet is almost immediately buried.

"Chronos' redemption happens too fast," one of the many Reddit posts criticising the ending reads. "We spend hours and hours of gameplay delving into the underworld, fighting against Chronos and his minions, getting to hear about how much hatred all of the cast has for him. When we finally meet him, he's as unrepenant and mean and bitter as they've set him up to be. He's a great villain; condescending, superior, taunting, and it fits the grudge that he would have against the gods for what they've done to him.
