Marvel Rivals Is Getting A PVE Mode Before Overwatch

It was a little lazy to call Marvel Rivals an Overwatch clone leading to the game’s launch last year, but if the shoe fits, you might as well wear it.

Both are hero-based shooters that offer objective-based gameplay modes. Both are, at their best, lots of fun to play. Which one is ultimately better is something that's up to your own personal opinion, though we recently gave our opinion on the matter. However, Marvel Rivals will soon have one thing that Overwatch doesn't: a PVE mode.

Overwatch 2 infamously scrapped its planned PVE mode last year as the sequel continues to struggle. Despite falling player counts, Marvel Rivals continues to see success, and that's a trend that's looking to continue.

NetEase has announced that Marvel Rivals is getting a zombie-based PVE mode, and it's coming sooner than you may think.

At first glance, this appears to be both a timely release alongside the upcoming Halloween holiday as well as an obvious inclusion for a PVE mode, given the popularity of the Call of Duty Zombies. Instead, it's a tie-in to the four-episode Marvel Zombies mini-series on Disney+.
