Both are hero-based shooters that offer objective-based gameplay modes. Both are, at their best, lots of fun to play. However, Marvel Rivals will soon have one thing that Overwatch doesn't: a PVE mode.
Overwatch 2 infamously scrapped its planned PVE mode last year as the sequel continues to struggle. Despite falling player counts, Marvel Rivals continues to see success, and that's a trend that's looking to continue.
NetEase has announced that Marvel Rivals is getting a zombie-based PVE mode, and it's coming sooner than you may think.
At first glance, this appears to be both a timely release alongside the upcoming Halloween holiday as well as an obvious inclusion for a PVE mode, given the popularity of the Call of Duty Zombies. Instead, it's a tie-in to the four-episode Marvel Zombies mini-series on Disney+.
