Pokemon Legends: Z-A has been in the hands of players for a couple of days now, and people have been diving deep into shiny hunting, Pokemon battling, creature collecting, or whatever else they've decided to get up to around the city of Lumiose. Of course, there's the main story to tackle too, and while it seems to be a relatively positive experience for most, there is one aspect of the story that has players baffled.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A has the name that it does because of the game's rank system, also known as the ZA Royale. Trainers take part in battles against each other to rise in the ranks, going from Rank Z to Rank A in an effort to b the best that no one ever was. Most players, myself included, assumed that this meant the majority of the game would have us gradually rising through the ranks, having our Pokemon get stronger alongside us.
Turns out, this isn't actually the case. We won't spoil exactly why, but at one point in Pokemon Legends: Z-A's story, the game will massively bump players through the ranking system for plot-related reasons, rocketing you from Rank V all the way...
