A number of free games will soon be available for PlayStation gamers.
On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that Sony has updated their Play at Home program for 2021, and will be giving out a number of games for free. The program aims to provide the PlayStation community with free games and entertainment to help the next few months be a little more fun. The program has already started, with Sony recently giving out 2016' Ratchet & Clank for free. The game will be available through March 31st. All games downloaded redeemed by gamers are theirs to keep even after the deadline to download them passes.
On March 25th, nine games will be available for gamers to download. PlayStation collaborated with some of their indie partners to provide to gamers while they are staying safe and staying home. Gamers will be able to download Abzu, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, and The Witness. A number of games are also coming to PS VR. The titles include Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Moss, Thumper, and Paper Beast. These games will be available to download until April 22nd.
Along with the games, Sony is offering and extended trial of Funimation (Wakanim in some regions) through a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex of Japan. Through this service, shows such as My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan will be viewable. The extended trial begins on March 25th, and will be available through April 22nd.
Finally, Sony mentioned that they have one more treat for gamers through the Play at Home initiative this spring. Starting on April 19th, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be available to download for free. The game will be available until May 14th.
The Play at Home program began last April. At the time, Sony gave out Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. This year's Play at Home initiative will extend through June.
