Leading up to the release of Battlefield 6, there was one question on everyone's mind: Will the game have realistic skins, or will this eventually be another Fortnite/COD-ification of a beloved FPS series?
Okay, there was a more pressing matter at hand: will the game be any good? Spoiler alert: it is. Our review said that Battlefield 6 is "the first Battlefield that is ready to dominate the multiplayer scene after years of Call of Duty tyranny."
I'm serious about that skin comment, though! One thing that has upset some traditional FPS fans is the guest appearances that take place within Fortnite and Call of Duty. I don't know about you, but the concept of seeing Jay and Silent Bob duke it out on the battlefield is, well, dumb. Then again, I'm a longtime Magic: The Gathering player, and I can only sit back depressed about what Universes Beyond is doing to the game I loved.
Anyway, that's right: Battlefield 6 skins, and the promise from earlier this year that they'll remain grounded. Here's what design director Shashank said on the matter:
Case settled, right? Well, maybe not; Battlefield fans aren't happy about one of the newest skins.
