Elden Ring's Switch 2 port, the Tarnished Edition, has been indefinitely delayed into 2026 to allow FromSoft the time to make some "performance adjustments".
When the Nintendo Switch 2 was first announced, it was made clear immediately that Nintendo was going all-in on third-party support from the get-go. Perhaps the biggest port that was announced at the Switch 2 reveal event was for Elden Ring, one of the highest-rated games of the last few generations.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition seemed like a fantastic idea and a great way of showing the power of the Switch 2, but that wasn't quite the case in practice. From the pre-release footage we've seen of the port so far, Tarnished Edition had some clear performance issues, which have apparently been infamous enough to get the game delayed.
Over on the official Elden Ring Twitter account, FromSoft confirmed that Tarnished Edition is being indefinitely pushed back into 2026, instead of its planned launch later this year.
