A Japanese School Is Traumatizing Students With Hideo Kojima's PT To Help Them Learn English

We may never have seen Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills thanks to his and Konami's falling out, but we did get the next best thing. PT might not be accessible for many people, but the demo is still routinely brought up as one of the scariest horror games ever created, scaring the bejeezus out of pretty much everyone that has the misfortune of stepping through that horrible, endless hallway. It's frightening, intense, and disturbing.

There are plenty of other horrible words I could use to describe PT, but educational definitely wouldn't be appropriate. Even so, one Japanese English teacher thought it was, as they somehow played through the demo and thought to themselves "this is a great learning opportunity", and has been traumatizing their students with the title in an effort to try and teach them the language.

First reported by Automaton, a teaching assistant at Niigata Prefecture’s Tsunan Secondary School in Japan has been getting their fifth-year students to play through PT in English. This teacher would pause the demo at certain sections of the game and ask the students what they'd like to do in the game next, using everyday phrases like 'walk around the room,' 'take a stroll,'...
