ARC Raiders Dev Has Mixed Feelings About Campers: "It Is A Tactic"

Nothing can ruin a solid match of a multiplayer game like walking into a regular-looking area, only to be decimated by a group of obnoxious campers. Whether you first experienced them hiding in bushes in Fortnite, or back in the golden era of Call Of Duty, hiding in a room with a Claymore, Campers have long been the bane of every PvP player's existence.

In games like extraction shooters, however, campers take on an even more annoying role. Compared to a match-based shooter or battle royale, extraction shooters rely on you continually growing a stockpile of loot round to round, meaning a camper can ruin an entire week of effort by wiping your squad and taking your best items.

So, it's no wonder that campers have already made a name for themselves in ARC Raiders, gaming's most popular current extraction shooter. Despite the game only being playable for a handful of open playtests and fully releasing tomorrow, players are already at odds with campers targeting key locations and map exits, hoping to feed off players properly scouring the maps for loot.
