The third-party floodgates are really going to fly open on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, and unlike some other releases so far, Resident Evil Requiem will arrive on the platform on the same day as it launches everywhere else. Not only that, but Grace Ashcroft will bring an amiibo of herself and a Requiem-themed Switch 2 controller along with her.

Capcom revealed Requiem's Switch 2 goodies as pre-orders for the next Resident Evil went live on Wednesday night. It's quite the honor for the iconic horror series, as, almost five months into the Switch 2's run, there's only one version of the Switch 2 Pro Controller so far - the plain black one which matches its OG Switch predecessor.

More fool Nintendo, I'd have paid a lot of money to play Donkey Kong Bananza on a banana-yellow Pro Controller.

The Requiem controller's design suggests Nintendo might not be interested in straying too far from its base black look, which might explain why games like Mario Kart World and Pokemon Legends: Z-A don't have controllers of their own.
