In case you missed it, Resident Evil Requiem, AKA Resident Evil 9 for those keeping numerical track, is officially up for pre-order. Perhaps the most noteworthy element of open pre-orders was the fact that there will be a Lady Dimitrescu skin for Grace because, of course, there will be.

Beyond that, however, thanks to pre-orders going live, we now know that Capcom will be shipping Requiem with Denuvo anti-piracy software, meaning the game will not be cracked anytime soon by pirates, though significant work on Denuvo has been made. We also know that, at one point, Requiem was going to launch with anti-cheat software.

Wait, what?

Yes, you read that right. Requiem, which is a single-player-only title, was going to have anti-cheat software, according to a filing on SteamDB. Then, one day later, it was removed.

Right now, it's unclear why exactly Requiem was even being shortlisted with the software, but those in the piracy scene assume it likely had to do with mods.
