Grand Theft Auto 5's Agent Trevor DLC is one of the game's worst-kept secrets. Early on, files were datamined suggesting that the title would be getting additional single-player content, focused around fan-favorite character Trevor becoming a secret agent. Unfortunately, the DLC never saw the light of day.
Now, in a new interview, Rockstar co-founder and one of the driving forces behind the company's stellar library, Dan Houser, has revealed more about the DLC, sharing that it was "half-done," but cut to make room for Red Dead Redemption 2.
In a new interview on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Houser revealed that the DLC, in which players played as a secret agent version of Trevor, "never quite came together." Calling the DLC "cute", Houser said, "It was never finished. It was about half done when it got abandoned."
There was a good reason for the DLC's cancellation, however, with the Rockstar co-founder adding that, "If that had come out, [Rockstar] probably wouldn’t have gotten to make Red Dead [Redemption] 2. So, there are always compromises.”
