PlayStation appears to be bucking its staunch no-refunds policy for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, but not for the reasons you might think. It's because the original arcade games included in the collection are so authentic that they still include the ability to read your inputs, and some people don't like it.
Reddit user Natural_Parsnip_5291 aired their grievances on the PS5 subreddit (via Push Square). " The AI input reading is a downright nightmare, and it shouldn't have been like this still, completely unacceptable, one of the worst 'remasters' I've ever played," the post reads. They've provided evidence that PlayStation issued them a refund for the collection in the replies.
For those unaware of how exactly the original arcade version of the first Mortal Kombat games functioned, they were programmed to read your inputs. That meant your AI opponents could counter your every move, thus ending your turn whenever it felt you'd had enough, and forcing you to insert another coin if you fancied a rematch.
