The upcoming remake of NieR will include extra content not found in the original.

It seems the remake of NeiR, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., will include bonus content when it releases (via PlayStation LifeStyle). One of the additions will be a new story episode entitled Mermaid. The episode will take place on a wrecked ship and will feature a little girl. In the episode, players will take part in a new scenario and a new boss fight.

NieR Replicant will also include extra dungeons that were released as DLC only in Japan. Those who make it through these dungeons will earn themselves weapons and two costumes, Kabuki and Samurai. After the two costumes have been unlocked, gamers will be able to go to the options menu and change the appearance of enemy bullets into Emil's face.

After players complete NeiR Replicant for the first time, they will be able to change the background music to pieces from NieR: Automata. The extra content in the remake will also feature voice performances from both the Japanese and English voice actors of 2B and 9S. A free 4 YoRHa DLC costume pack will also be available for NieR Replicant at launch. It will include costumes and weapons from Automata's 2B, 9S, and A2.

Those who pre-order NieR: Replicant before its release this Friday will receive bonuses depending on the platform that the game is pre-ordered from. Those who pre-order from Steam will receive a wallpaper collection and mini digital soundtrack. Xbox One adopters will receive a mini digital soundtrack. PlayStation 4 gamers will receive an avatar set, a dynamic theme, and mini digital soundtrack. Those who buy the game physically for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive reversible box art for the game's case.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... will release on April 23rd. It will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
