Tales of Arise now has a release date.

In an interview with gaming news publisher Famitsu (via Gematsu), it was revealed that Tales of Arise will release worldwide on September 10th. It was previously announced that the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, it has been revealed that the game will now release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well. Along with the announcement of the game's release date, a new trailer was released, which can be seen here courtesy of IGN.

In the Famitsu interview about Tales of Arise, a few details were shared about the upcoming game. Those who buy the game on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to get a free upgrade to the next-gen versions of the game. The game will feature two graphical modes, a performance mode that will run the game at 60 fps, and a graphics mode that will display the game in 4K. Tales of Arise will make use of the DualSense's haptic feedback on the PlayStation 5 version of the game. For example, different types of spells will have a different feel on the controller. Series conventions such as Mystic Artes, Artes, and Skills will make a return in Tales of Arise, though how they work will differ from past titles. You can read the full interview here

Tales of Arise will take place on the planet Dahna, where reverence has always been given to Rena, the planet in the sky. Rena is seen as the land of the righteous and the divine. Stories that were passed down for generations have become truth and masked the reality for those on Dahna. For 300 years, Rena has ruled over Dahna, pillaging its resources and stripping the people of their dignity and freedom. The game will follow two characters who were born on different worlds, each looking to change their fates and create a new future. Tales of Arise will feature a new cast of characters, updated combat, and classic gameplay mechanics found in previous Tales games.

Tales of Arise will release this September for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
