Tales Of Berseria Remastered's Japanese Version Will Include The Original's Overseas Censorship

Tales of Berseria Remastered is the next big thing for Bandai Namco's fittingly titled Tales Remaster project, and it's... certainly not the choice I would have made. I see heaps of confusion already from fans who had been hoping the company would have chosen something that isn't available for modern consoles; it's on PS4, and thus, it's perfectly playable on PS5. Not everybody owns a PlayStation console, of course - nor a gaming PC - but still. Where's Tales of the Abyss? Or, dare I say, where's Tales of Destiny 2's true iteration?

Well, whatever. It is what it is. Tales of Berseria is still super-cool, although global versions had a bit of what I would personally consider to be unfortunate censorship. Your mileage may vary, but a particular impalement scene doesn't hit as hard at all when it's replaced with a magic spell that forms a light-infused "X" over its target. Previously, the Japanese version did not include this restriction. Alas, Tales of Berseria Remastered is nixing the stab sequence even in its homeland.
