Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions Launches This September

The Rocky franchise lives on in the Creed spin-offs, and now both titular characters return to star in Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions, launching this fall. The boxing game launches on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on September 3.

Creed Champions is an arcade boxing game with a color palette almost reminiscent of what a modern-day Punch-Out might look like, albeit with far more detailed characters. The game will feature characters from throughout the Rocky franchise, including Adonis Creed, Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Ivan Drago, Viktor Drago, Clubber Lang and more. It's really a melting pot of the entire decades-long history of the beloved boxing movies. A story mode, as well as local competitive multiplayer, serve as the game's main attraction.

Players can play out classic training montages straight out of the movies and the team at Survios and MGM (licensers of the Rocky IP) say the game features easy to pick up and play controls that offer a skill curve to attract long-term players who wish to really dominate the game's challenges.

This actually isn't the first game adaptation since the Michael B. Jordan-led Creed spin-off. Virtual reality players were able to play Creed: Rise To Glory back in 2018, and as the spin-off movie series has received a sequel, so too has it in the gaming world.

Boxing games have been lacking across the board in recent years, as the only major franchise, Fight Night, has been dormant for over a decade. This arcade-style game may not be the sim some fans want, but hopefully it scratches an itch for genre fans.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions will launch on September 3.
