Battlefield 6 developer DICE has responded to the disastrous launch of the game's Winter Offensive update, which was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on December 9. The studio has promised to continue gathering information from the Battlefield 6 community and outlined its plans for the game's next hotfix update, which will be released for Steam users on December 12 in order to promptly address one of the most critical problems brought on by this week's 1.1.3.0 patch.
The highly anticipated Winter Offensive update for Battlefield 6 was part of the game's Season 1 content, which marked the third and final patch for the season. At no additional no cost, fans were treated to a winter-themed version of Empire State, which features frozen streets and seasonal environmental visuals, a new Ice Climbing Axe Melee weapon, which can be unlocked via the Winter Offensive Bonus Path, and a new time-limited Multiplayer and Gauntlet mode, which is a themed event mode playable across Domination, Conquest, and Gauntlet mission variations on Ice Lock Empire State featuring the event-limited 'Freeze' mechanic.
