Critic Reviews for Project Motor Racing
Project Motor Racing feels like an early access game that hasn’t actually been identified as such, and is simply not a better racer than its 2017 ancestor Project CARS 2.
Rev your engines for Project Motor Racing's thrilling launch, but watch out for the potholes ahead!
As a spiritual successor to Project CARS, Project Motor Racing takes a major step forward in car handling and environmental feel, but at full price, its limited content and lack of guidance make it an underwhelming experience.
Disappointment is an understatement when it comes to Project Motor Racing. Vehicle control, sub-par graphics, and cost all contribute to the calamity that is PMR.
I am genuinely bummed about the state Project Motor Racing is landing in. Where the core gameplay, i.e. the driving itself and a sizeable collection of iconic cars, is well crafted, the clunky AI and damage model, along with really poor optimisation, get in the way of enjoying the game as much as possible.

What was an opportunity to standout in an ever-growing field of sim racing competitors has sadly fallen by the wayside. There’s still a chance for Project Motor Racing to shine though, and success will hinge on just how good the online multiplayer ends up being.
Even now, I still don't know quite where I stand on Project Motor Racing. Everything it does well, it does very well; clunky menus aside, the presentation and visuals are great, and the sound is wonderful when it's working properly. The small issues, however, ultimately soured the experience for me somewhat.
Project Motor Racing is a title that takes a stand, and it does so without compromise. It doesn't aim to please everyone, it doesn't want to be yet another flashy racing game that confuses realism with visual spectacle, and it doesn't intend to hand out easy wins or deliver a career that passes by without leaving any mark.
