Critic Reviews for Tales of Berseria Remastered
Tales of Berseria is still one of my favourite entries in the series, thanks to its excellent story and charming cast of characters. The gameplay is as fun as ever, and it's aged well since its debut nearly a decade ago. This remaster offers plenty of new features for those who've already experienced the game, and they're an extra cherry on top for newcomers. Beyond those quality-of-life additions, the port itself doesn't exactly go above and beyond, but if you're looking to play this game on the go, you can't go wrong here.
There’s no doubt that Tales of Berseria Remastered lives up to its billing and delivers the definitive version of one of Bandai Namco’s best role-playing games.
As someone who missed the original release of Tales of Berseria, I really enjoyed this remastered version. They story is about revenge, and is much darker than the typical JRPG but to me it also felt more earnest in its approach. While the developers made things prettier with the remaster, I do wish this was a full-fledged remake; but what’s here is a lot of fun.
I'm a long time fan of the Tales of games, and I personally love that this release, along with the other recent remasters, received a physical version with some extra bells and whistles. That said, the urge to buy Tales of Berseria Remastered isn't really all that strong, as this experience essentially exists on modern hardware already.
Tales of Berseria Remastered marks the re-release of one of the best entries in the series. The remaster itself is fairly solid, although some minor texture and lighting issues persist throughout.
Tales of Berseria Remastered makes this harrowing adventure much easier to experience, but it still doesn't do enough to fix the issues that plagued the original release.
