There’s no doubt that Tales of Berseria Remastered lives up to its billing and delivers the definitive version of one of Bandai Namco’s best role-playing games.
I'm a long time fan of the Tales of games, and I personally love that this release, along with the other recent remasters, received a physical version with some extra bells and whistles. That said, the urge to buy Tales of Berseria Remastered isn't really all that strong, as this experience essentially exists on modern hardware already.

Tales of Berseria Remastered marks the re-release of one of the best entries in the series. The remaster itself is fairly solid, although some minor texture and lighting issues persist throughout.
Tales of Berseria is one of the most narratively ambitious entries in the franchise, and it still hits heights few other RPGs can – and packs in a few new bells and whistles to boot.
Tales of Berseria is still a high point of the series and the genre with its excellent storytelling, but the baffling decision to port a game that is readily available on modern platforms is puzzling.
Tales of Berseria Remastered is not a revolution, but a smart reimagining of a recent minor classic. Is it worth buying? Absolutely yes, especially if you haven't had the chance to play it before. And if you've already played it, it could be the perfect opportunity to rediscover Velvet and her story, with a few added conveniences and without the frenzy of modern times. Finally, free from being overshadowed by a year crowded with blockbusters, Berseria can shine as it deserves, and I assure you, it's truly worth it.

Tales of Berseria Remastered is an odd duck. It's a barely necessary remastered version of an absolutely excellent game that PlayStation owners can already purchase for half the price. It's easily the best version of the game with some fantastic QoL improvements and all the DLC packed in at a much lower price than buying them separately. However, if you're already a longtime fan who already owns the game and has purchased the DLC, Remastered is probably not worth the extra cost. If you're a newcomer to the game and don't mind shelling out a little more for bells and whistles, Remastered is the version you should get.
Sometimes, certain games feel like an old friend you run into after many years — not so different that you don’t recognize them, yet not so unchanged that you think, “Well, I could’ve just experienced this back then.” Tales of Berseria Remastered captures exactly that feeling.

Tales of Berseria was a great entry in the series back when it originally released and it still is today. This is an excellent RPG to pick up if you're looking for a thoroughly entertaining story although the enhancements aren't anything to write home about. 🏴☠️
Tales of Berseria: Remastered offers Nintendo Switch owners the opportunity to experience another good game from the Tales franchise. While this remaster doesn't bring many significant changes or visual improvements, Berseria itself is a good game with an interesting cast of characters and a combat system that expands on some of the ideas from previous titles.

Tales of Berseria Remake is a welcome release to update the greatest tale of the Tales series to the modern settings. However, unlike the previous Tales remakes, the additions are empty beyond the addition of the DLCs. Still, it's worth purchasing if only to get a higher quality version of one of the greatest titles of the series.
Tales of Berseria Remastered is a bizarre pick for Bandai Namco to update, but it is uniquely the most adult title the series has put out.
Tales of Berseria Remastered preserves the essence of one of the last decade's greatest RPGs, but it needs much more to convince players to pay full price.

Playing Tales of Berseria now through this remaster, I’m reminded (once again) of why I shouldn’t let past entries in a series deter me from trying future games in a series. Berseria is fun to play and features a cast of characters you’ll enjoy to watch as they make a mess of things. A great JRPG to hop into if and when you’re feeling a bit vengeful and all reason is lost.

Tales of Berseria Remastered may be the least necessary or helpful remaster I’ve ever played, but it’s still a good RPG well worth playing for those who missed it the first time around. Too many one-dimensional dungeons and combat, which, at times, is too complex for its own good, stop it from reaching greatness, but its unique story and cast of characters set it apart from the genre and make it well worth your time.
The remaster of Tales of Berseria primarily delivers a more pleasant gameplay experience, with its many small quality-of-life features creating a smoother flow throughout the game. Its strengths in storytelling and its fantastic party of strong-willed characters and antiheroes—who bring plenty of slapstick alongside their serious backstories—have, of course, been retained. However, this remake should mainly be seen as an option for those who previously skipped the game or want a portable version for the Switch (2). In terms of content, nothing has really changed, and you’ll search in vain for any new additions. Our review therefore reflects the perspective of players who are unfamiliar with the original.

Tales of Berseria Remastered plays it safe, delivering improvements in textures, resolution, and frame rate while keeping intact everything that made Tales of Berseria one of the great classics of the Tales franchise. The remaster doesn’t offer many compelling reasons for players who already own the PS4 version to upgrade, but the graphical enhancements make it the perfect entry point for those who have yet to experience Velvet’s journey of revenge.
