80 / 100 - Yakuza Kiwami 2
Jan 3, 2026

With the recent update to the new generation, past performance issues are a thing of the past, allowing Yakuza Kiwami 2 to be enjoyed in its definitive form. While its story may not have the same impact as its predecessors, the famous blend of tension and chaotic fun that defines the essence of the series remains, making this an indispensable chapter.

80 / 100 - Yakuza Kiwami
Dec 30, 2025

Yakuza Kiwami is, without a doubt, one of the most faithful remakes ever developed. The title respects its origins while intelligently expanding the plot, delivering a much deeper and more cohesive experience. Playing it brings a mix of nostalgia and novelty. The structure of the PlayStation 2 original is still there, but with gameplay improvements that make the experience even more complete and fun. For those who have never played it, this is the definitive version. For everyone else, the new localization options are the perfect excuse to don Kiryu's gray suit once again.

Yakuza 0 remains the masterpiece that popularized the franchise in the West and the best entry point for new fans. The story of Kiryu and Majima in the 80s remains impeccable, with its eccentric and fun extra content. However, the Director's Cut is a bittersweet package: while the quality-of-life improvements are welcome and the new scenes enrich the plot, the Red Light Raid online mode is disappointing and the Brazilian Portuguese localization disappoints due to its lack of polish.

75 / 100 - Hirogami
Sep 2, 2025

Hirogami is a game that enchants with its concept and art direction, but on the other hand, it struggles with the execution of some of its key mechanics. Hiro's transformations are detailed and work very well, encouraging exploration. However, its weak story and truncated, slow-flowing combat leave something to be desired. Still, despite being an average title, it can please fans of the genre.

Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is the must-have lost chapter for fans and a good entry point for those wanting to explore the franchise. Playing it evokes a nostalgic feeling, partly thanks to its pixel art style, but at the same time, we know it's something new. Its simple story features entertaining dialogue and an interesting and organic exploration, but the lack of a map is sometimes missed.

Patapon 1+2 Replay is a collection that lovingly revives two of the most creative games in the PSP catalog and brings them back with a fresh look, quality-of-life improvements, and the same captivating and fun gameplay. The combination of rhythm and strategy continues to work incredibly well, and even with the absence of Patapon 3, it's an experience worth rediscovering.

9 Years of Shadows is one of those indies that manages to leave a lasting impression. The armor mechanics are well thought out and bring fluidity to exploration, especially during boss fights. Even with its mediocre story and minor technical issues, the title makes up for it with creativity, charming pixel art, and an excellent soundtrack, a well-designed atmosphere, and well-functioning gameplay. For those who enjoy metroidvanias and are looking for something new within the genre, it's worth giving it a try.

It's always great to find games inspired by films that respect and embrace the entire universe created. RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business is one of those games that tells an excellent story, adding significantly to the lore established by the films. It's remarkable that the title knows exactly where it's going and manages to deliver on its promises. The new additions bring a certain freshness, enriching the narrative without losing the essence established by Rogue City. A great action game and an excellent addition to the RoboCop universe.

55 / 100 - Captain Blood
Jul 6, 2025

Captain Blood tries to recapture the charm of the PS2's golden era, but unfortunately ends up being a rather mediocre title that misses where it should have hit the mark. There's some merit to its release, partly due to its troubled development, but if you're hoping to find a game that emanates the same energy and does justice to that era, Captain Blood is far from it.

Ruffy and the Riverside is one of those pleasant surprises that charms with its simplicity and fun thanks to the SWAP mechanic. A game that draws a lot of attention for its beautiful art direction and that, despite drawing from the sources of Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie and other great names in the genre, doesn't live in their shadow. Quite the opposite, Ruffy is a game full of soul that rescues the essence of good old platform titles.

Among so many roguelites released in recent years, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade ends up being just another one in the crowd. Its visuals and, mainly, its fun gameplay are the highlights, but not enough to make it a memorable game. Repetition, which is usually an ally of the genre, acts as a villain here, wearing down the experience and making the game recommended only for big roguelite fans.

80 / 100 - Copycat
May 30, 2025

Copycat is a touching experience that invites us to see the world through the eyes of Dawn, a kitten scarred by trauma who seeks to understand her place and purpose in the world. With simple yet varied gameplay, the focus here is not on complex mechanics, but rather on offering a narrative that moves, comforts, and makes us reflect on the true meaning of home.

Majima's return as the protagonist has never been so good and at the same time unusual. Once again, RGG Studio maintains its seal of quality and goes further with the addition of naval combats along with gameplay that is a true delight, providing hours of fun. Even though it has a simple, unpretentious story on the surface and some moments that could be dispensed with, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii carries in its depths an ode to friendship, dreams and, above all, life.

80 / 100 - Afterlove EP
Feb 13, 2025

Playing Afterlove EP brings the same feeling as reading a slice of life manga on a rainy afternoon while listening to some good lo-fi music. Its gameplay is simple, but it brings a narrative surrounded by moments of reflection. Its visual novel vein increases the replayability factor and makes us want to try different routes not only to see the ending but also to follow Rama's journey in a process of healing and starting over.

Nikoderiko is a true love letter not only to Donkey Kong Country and Crash Bandicoot, but also to the platformer genre. By mixing the most varied elements present in these games, we are graced with a game that brings a nostalgic and at the same time current experience. Despite having some minor problems and a dull unlockable system, the game is fun and capable of putting a smile on the player's face with each reference. A title recommended for all fans of the genre and that will please both more experienced and novice players.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero attempts to revive the glory days of the Budokai Tenakichi series , but the aftertaste is somewhat bittersweet. It is, in fact, a beautiful homage to the franchise, especially considering the events that occurred this year, but it misses the essence of what made Budokai Tennkaichi so beloved. A game that may please some fans, but it is far from being as incredible as its predecessors.

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a necessary, competent remake that respects the original, making what was already good even better. Its mature story speaks very well to older players and opens up a new world for younger ones by transporting us on a journey into Disney's past. A game with a great replay factor, simple and intuitive gameplay and a duration in the right measure that shows that the genre still has a lot to offer, bringing an air of novelty in the midst of so many more of the same games.

Bounty Hunter rescues the spirit of Star Wars by putting us in the shoes of one of the most famous bounty hunters in the saga. Despite having problems from the original 2002 release, the game is still fun, with moments of action governed by the magnificent soundtrack of the films along with an interesting story. The remaster gets it right not only in the visual aspects but also in the quality of life improvements, in addition to making the game accessible to several generations. A full plate for those who want to get away from the Jedi vs Sith cliché or just enjoy a good game of the saga.

65 / 100 - Fate Seeker 2
Jul 22, 2024

Fate Seeker II is a game that takes you to the wuxia universe with a good premise, but that ends up having its positive points overshadowed by the problems of performance, narrative rhythm and dull exploration. Despite being a single-player title, the game follows a structure similar to that of an MMORPG and with mechanics that, even though they are interesting, tend to tire or even frustrate the player.

"Every story begins at the end of another." This is the main premise of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, a metroidvania-style game that, while inviting us to explore the beautiful biomes of Kenzera, also makes us reflect on loss and mourning, making it possible to see death with new eyes. The debut title from Surgent Studios gets it right by bringing a good balance between exploration, puzzle, combat and action while presenting us with a story full of inspiration from Bantu myths and legends, guided by a great soundtrack. The game works as an excellent gateway to the genre and brings with it a plot of reflection and acceptance.
