Code Vein 2 is almost exactly the sequel this franchise needed, yet I struggle to understand the decision to adopt such a generic art style, especially when compared to the dark, distinct anime aesthetics that defined the first game.

A good metroidvania is all about that fluid movement, rewarding exploration and a simple yet exciting combat. Kotama and the Academy Citadel checked all that except for some polish issues

Code Violet just feels like it is still only a concept that is being sold to you for $50

While some of the diverse gameplay styles seem more like a tech demo, the detective and story styles can stand on their own, but it's really the story and how it's presented that steal the show.

It doesn't add much nor does it utilize its license that well, but if you like the formula and Capcom then you're still in for a treat.

The game shines in it's content and rich combinations between the Marvel heroes, but it does fall short in terms of visuals and art direction

It might be shorter and more of a side story, but it still manages to hit the same high notes of great character interactions and fun plot, with the added bonus of escape rooms to keep the experience fresh.

Opencritic: Octopath 0 delivers the best turn-based combat of any RPG I've played, paired with the level of storytelling and twists we've come to expect from the series. With all of that, it just took me back to Square's golden age RPGs

Metacritic: After a long wait this installment does not need to change much to remain relevant and much needed, and what it does add is enough to elevate it despite its best efforts to undermine itself at times with trite dialog and tired setpieces.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on PS5 offers a strong experience despite its flaws. It blends unforgettable survival atmospheres with moments of tension that the player feels personally with every step inside the forbidden zone. It may not be the complete experience many dreamed of, but it remains a world worth entering-for those whose curiosity outweighs their fear and who have the patience to endure its brutality.

Black Ops 7 delivers fun in Zombies and online modes, but feels distant from the series in identity and gameplay. The campaign is modest, with bold design choices that often miss the mark or feel frustrating. Overall, it's a decent entry just not up to the expectations set by the game's marketing.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O is just a Virtua Fighter 5 game with an extra step, when it could have been the game to bring the spotlight into this ancient franchise just before the upcoming major Virtua Fighter release, but it is just about the same 2006 game re-released in 2025

Although the art style in both games is stunning, some aspects on the first game haven't aged well enough to capture the interest of those who don't have any nostalgia for it, the second game is where I can confidentially say this is a must-play RPG game
