Monster Hunter Wilds' Latest Update Didn't Fix The Game, It Made It Look Even "Worse Than Before"

After Monster Hunter's hot streak, which saw World and Rise cement the series as one of Capcom's best-selling ever, Wilds brought things back down to earth with a bump. Stunning player numbers were marred by game-breaking issues, and despite numerous updates, things have yet to get better. Even a Final Fantasy crossover couldn't save the game, and Capcom admitted it had failed to meet expectations.

Yesterday, the company released Title Update 4. It included the Elder Dragon Gogmazios, new equipment, and new Arch-tempered monsters, like the Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad, alongside some weapon balance changes and bug fixes.

Unfortunately, while the content was plenty, it seems to have done nothing to change the game's fortunes, and Monster Hunter Wilds has, once again, been hit with another flurry of negative reviews on Steam.

According to data from SteamDB, on Title Update 4's release date, Monster Hunter Wilds received 420 negative Steam reviews (versus 238 positive). This is the most negative reviews it's received in a single day since early October. This has kept the game with a miserable "Mixed" score on the Valve-owned platform.

It's already seen an 86 percent drop.
