Divinity's Companions Have Already Been Written And Cast, But Like Baldur's Gate 3, They're Going To Change A Lot

Larian probably has a lot of learnings from Baldur's Gate 3 which it will apply to Divinity. While world building, exploration, player freedom, and combat are all important parts of the studio's blockbuster hit, there's no doubt that the companions were the heart of it. Baldur's Gate 3 wouldn't have been half as good if it wasn't for this lovable bunch of goofs. Thankfully, it looks like Divinity will follow the same approach as BG3 when it comes to companions.

Each of the companions in Larian's previous game had dedicated writers, which resulted in some great character arcs and personalised interactions, depending on your actions in the game. The cast will remain memorable for a long time because of this. In an interview with TheGamer, Larian boss Swen Vincke revealed that the same process will be applied to Divinity's companions, but much like development on the previous game, things are constantly changing.
