A number of seasonal items are available now in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (via GameSpot). To celebrate Japan's Obon festival, players can pick up two new items: the eggplant cow and cucumber horse. Both will cost 500 bells, and can be purchased from Nook Shopping. The items will be available until August 16th. The two items rotate daily, so players will have to check every day in order to get both. In order to order the eggplant cow and cucumber horse, players need to open the Nook Shopping catalog from either their NookPhone or the terminal in the Resident Services building. They then need to select special goods, and click on the Seasonal tab.
Also available to purchase are the Hikoboshi and Orihime outfits, which will cost 2,500 bells each. Players can also buy the rodeo-style springy ride-on for 2,000 bells. The outfits will be available until August 14th, while the springy ride-on will be available until the 15th.
A new update was released for New Horizons recently. The update brought back the fireworks shows, which will take place every Sunday in August. There are new fireworks on display, including depictions of Tom Nook and Isabelle. Gamers will be able to obtain popsicles, cotton candy, and bubble tea from Redd's stall during the shows. More seasonal items will be available next month starting on September 12th.
