A Pokémon Presents stream is being held next week, and will give us information on upcoming Pokémon titles.
The Pokémon Company announced that they will be holding a Pokémon Presents stream next week (via Polygon). The stream will be held on August 18th. The livestream can be watched on the official Pokémon YouTube channel, which can be seen here. The stream will start at 9:00 a.m. EST / 6:00 a.m. PST. It was promised that we would get information on a number of upcoming Pokémon projects, including Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl, and will be faithful recreations of the originals. The story of the games will be reproduced while the scale of the towns and routes will be carefully preserved. While Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be faithful remakes, they will include quality of life improvements that have been made in mainline Pokémon titles over the years.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will transport players to a long-gone era of the Sinnoh region, the region where Diamond and Pearl take place. In Legends, gamers will catch, survey, and research wild Pokémon in order to create the first Pokedex. Legends takes place in a time before ideas such as being a Pokémon Trainer or having a Pokémon League existed. Players will be able to sneak up on Pokémon in the wild and try to catch them, or have their own ally Pokémon battle them. When gamers send out their ally near a wild Pokémon, they will seamlessly enter battle and command their Pokémon by choosing moves that it knows.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 19th. Pokémon Legends: Arceus will release for the system on January 28th, 2022.
