Gamers can try out Rainbow Six: Siege for free this weekend.

It has been announced that Rainbow Six: Siege will be free to play this weekend. The event starts today, and will run until August 16th at 4:00 a.m. PST. The free trial is open to anyone playing on PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect, the Epic Games Store, and Stadia. Those who decide that they want to purchase the game after the weekend will be able to keep their progress. Anyone who plays this weekend will be able to try out the Containment event taking place right now.

It was also announced that everyone playing Siege this weekend will be able to enjoy double battle points. This will allow everyone who is playing, whether they own the game or are just trying it out for the weekend, to grind their battle pass even faster. All activities that usually provide battle points will reward players with double the points.

The Rainbow Six: Siege Containment event is currently live, and will last until August 24th. Containment is a PvP event, and is played on a revamped version of the Consulate map. The event features 33 unique items, including weapon skins and uniforms. Players will be able to purchase the items in Siege's shop for 1,680 R6 credits. The items will also be found in Containment Packs, which will cost players 300 R6 credits, or 12,500 renown. Containment features a new playlist entitled Nest Destruction. Gamers will be able to play as members of REACT, the team that will be featured in the upcoming Rainbow Six: Extraction. In Nest Destruction, Attackers will play as REACT agents, while the Defenders will play as alien shapeshifters that will take the form of REACT members. However, Defenders will be limited to melee attacks. Attackers win if they destroy the nest, while Defenders will net a victory if they eliminate all of the Attackers.

Rainbow Six: Siege is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
