In a new, exclusive interview with New Game+ Showcase's Luality, The Blood of Dawnwalker Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz shed some light on multiple features for the upcoming third-person dark fantasy RPG.
According to Tomaszkiewicz, Vale Sangora was once ruled by the tyrannical Lord Scander, who would wipe out whole villages to prevent the spread of the plague until the Roman vampire Brencis and his cadres of vampires eliminated him and took over the valley.
Brencis and his vampires quickly assume control over the valley by using their blood to cure people of the plague, which causes most of Vale Sangora's citizens to begin worshiping the vampires and Brencis specifically as religious figures and saviors.
This puts Brencis in a greater shade of gray compared to other video game villains who are overtly evil, but this position of power and influence will impact Coen's journey in Dawnwalker in multiple ways, both in gameplay and story.
